My understanding is that it's NOT on the same account as when you go to the grocery store, for food. So the above answer is misleading. You actually have to be approved special by your case worker, to make your card eligible to order from fast food places accepting EBT. This is the experience a friend had, who was always declined at Subway, even though they had plenty of money, in their food account. Maybe it varies by state or even city? But that was in LA.

Yes, I wish I would have seen your response earlier. but I did go to Subway, and tried to use my food card and it would not let me, so I ended up paying cash. I am in San Bernardino County, CA
