No bad spots but the answers to most of your questions all depend on what show you're going to see. The only direct answer is no you can't bring your own food or drink in.
The last concert I went to there, I arrived 15 minutes before the show and got a great spot, although not too near the front. You can see the stage really well pretty much wherever you stand. The show lasted about 3.5-4 hours
Doors usually open at 7. Music starts at 8 and goes until 11-1130. The venue is spacious and even when sold out there aren't too many bad spots.
