I’ve found a stray cat near my home, and have given it food and water. He seems calm enough, and I’ve picked him up on numerous occasions. Should we drop him off at the shelter, or leave him be?

Cats are survivors don't give him a death sentence unless that's a no-kill shelter leave him be

You can take him there so he can be scanned for a chip and maybe locate an owner. 🐱

I love animals. Having said that, I don't believe in allowing stray cats or dogs to roam in cities. If an animal is unadoptable for the reason[s] the shelter deems- it should be euthanasized. Euthanasia is NOT killing an animal. Euthanasia is always to spare the animal suffering. Just because some stray dogs and cats can survive in the city- it doesn't mean they are not still suffering. In the long term strategy dogs/cats succumb to disease[s] and accidents, and evil- mentally sick people who take joy in killing or hurting strays.

Take it to the shelter or contact a trap neuter and release program. A cat can produce an average of three litters in one year. The average number of kittens in a feline litter is four to six. Up to 4,948 kittens can be born from one unspayed female cat and her offspring in seven years. Please don't just leave it out there. There are so many kittens in shelters it's heartbreaking --try and get it neutered to break the cycle. Thanks
