Definitely worth the 5 hour trip. You might want to stay over, there is a lovely bed and breakfast in the area and there are lots of wineries and historical things in the area.I would wait until spring because we are in between seasons now.
How much does this cost
The Christmas show is especially spectacular, but every season features amazing things.
Yes. Might want to stay over in the area as there is lots of walking to see the gardens and conservatory. Be sure to get food at Longwood, always delicious!
There is a lot to see and do there, probabky more than a single day. It's about 2 hours drive for me and we go there few times a year. Every time there is something different to see. I'd probably drive 5 hours to see it, if I could make it a few day vacation.
Absolutely come in spring or summer, also visit the Brandywine River Museum just down the road featuring American artists and the Wyeths..there is also Tyler Arboretum as well as Winterthur. .
WELL worth it. The place is gorgeous.
definitely, longwood gardens is a breathtaking site.
We usually spend two to three hours. If you live on the area a membership is a bargain.
We locals are spoiled because we can enjoy all the seasons there especially spring, fall and Christmas. I was down about 4 weeks ago and was not disappointed with the flowers and color I still found on the grounds. But if you could only make it over once a year I would say spring and Christmas would come in a close second.
