I am planning on going ny to Georgia on a motor assisted bike. Is the bike allowed on the trail? Just curious cause I would love seeing at least parts of it

Not sure but think its foot traffic only.

Bikes (with or without motors), horses, ATV's, skimobiles, etc are not allowed anywhere on the AT, and there are plenty of places those machines couldn't navigate anyway. BUT, in Virginia the AT roughly follows the courses of the Blue Ridge Parkway (105 miles) and Skyline Drive (470 miles), and they are back-to-back. In fact, the original AT was ON those two roads. If you want a very nice bike trip, with or without a motor, with very nice mountain views, lodging or camping, and good access to re-supply, I recommend them.
