So I wanna travel to Washington DC for my birthday next month and I wanna walk inside my first dispensary. Am I allowed to legally buy something? It’s recreational so I should be able too. I know I can’t smoke in public and I don’t want too.

Can’t buy anything rec here... visited twice now since 2014 they made it legal but still can’t sell to rec users not to sure what the point of making it rec for then

You can legally buy marijuana in DC IF you have medical marijuana certificate. To know which State's medical marijuana certificate is accepted; you have to call the dispensaries individually to find as not all out of State certificates are accepted. Yes, you are right, you cannot smoke in public; but you can smoke in your home and your car with the windows.

You need meeical card to buy in DC, and we take any State Card

I believe you have to have a valid license to purchase marijuana and you cannot smoke it in public . smoking in your home so far anyway
