Declawing a cat is like you having your knuckles removed. There are plenty of ways to deal with their claws from clipping them, getting claw caps, providing scratch posts, etc. There is no good reason to declaw a cat.
That is the most painful thing for an animal and they don't just remove a nail they go to the knuckle. Sometime it can leave their paws deformed. If you put plenty of scratch things around and have their nails clipped you won't have to worry I have never had my furniture so one by any of my cats I have three none of them are declawed
