Okay I have to pay the courts on the 11th but I don't have the money, if I call and ask for an extension, will they grant me the extension since I have been paying them on time?

It depends on your work history and also the amount of the fine. If you are a student or the dependent of another it is easy to get one. If you cannot prove the reason you are unable to pay they will not grant permission for a late payment. If it is your first time being late you should be fine anyways don't sweat the small things. Goof luck! No on the agency question it does not work that way.

You can be a little late. They give you a few weeks before you're considered out of compliance and kill the payment plan, suspend, and start looking for you. Then you have to restart it again same thing like the first time. Pay a chunk down, fill out the application and see a financial officer

Would it be easier to call the collection agency that they go through?

I would go down in person and see if you could speak with your judge. Usually they will grant you an extension in a case such as yours.
