I just adopted a new dog (yay)! Do I need to bring him in to get checked out?

Thank you for opening your heart and home to a rescued pet! We recommend scheduling a veterinary appointment shortly after adoption and offer a free wellness exam for newly adopted pets. Our comprehensive animal health care services are designed to assist your pet through every life stage. These services include wellness care and vaccinations for young, healthy pets, routine care, diagnostics and surgical and dentistry services to manage your pet’s health as s/he ages, and specialized care for senior patients. Our goal, as your trusted partner for your pet’s veterinary care needs, is to collaborate with you to ensure that your animal companion enjoys a long, happy, and healthy life.

Yes. Best to have him checked out by a good vet. Plus, this is a good way to establish a relationship with your vet and make sure your pup has his annual shots, flea & tick medication, heartworm protection, etc. Congratulations on your new dog!!
