Hi Janice. To begin the process of admission to hospice care, you do not need a referral in hand from your physician. Our referral team will work hand in hand with your doctor to facilitate the process. We often receive inquiries about beginning hospice care from family and friends of the patient. Just give us a call and we can help. 219-462.5195.

Yes but it's simple. Just call your doctor they'll do the referral if needed. If you have a hospice care provider in mind tell the doctor you want that hospice care provider. You also don't have to settle for one referral. You can have multiple interviews with hospice providers to chose who you want. There are several in the area. VNA though is the only one with their own hospice house facility if and when a patient needs it. Others use nursing homes and retirement centers.
