No one will stop you from entering.
I'm fairly certain the park technically closes at 9pm. I've been there many times however late at night with no issues. Just keep in mind that after 9pm the police may decide to speak with you.
There are no doors to close, you can walk there and sit on the bench

According to NYC Parks, hours at parks are as follows: General Park Hours Park hours may vary. Check signs at entrances for posted hours. Parks: 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. or 6:00 a.m. - 1:00 a.m. Playgrounds: 6:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
