No fragile equipment and no touching. They gave a very small children's area but not for a group
Birthday party...I have to say no. But, maybe for small group 5-6 of 10-12yo could possibly be held in the children's area or in the wild fire area, but I would definitely call and talk to the docent. It may be something they do on case by case (age/group size) it could arrange a more personalized tour.
I agree with Greg. It would be impossible to corral a group of kids. Even adults tend to want to touch shiny things!
I've been there with little kids, isn't really a place to even have a party, but could be cool for small groups to visit.
