You are required to apply for a mmj card with the state at www.pa.gov and get a registration number. Then, you go to an approved medical provider to determine if you have one of the 21 qualifying conditions. Insurance does not pay for this, so expect to pay as much as $300 for this visit. If the doctor gives you a prescription, he/she will give you another number, which is your prescription number. The doctor enters your information on the website, and then you have to go back to the website and enter the number given you, and pay $50 for your card, which arrives in the mail in about two weeks. The card is good for a year, when you must renew it. Without the card, you cannot even get past the receptionist. On your first visit, a pharmacist will consult with you to determine which product or products will best treat your condition, but you alone make the final determination as to what you will use. Your are then presented with a menu, and you make your selection. Payment is cash only.
No you need a doctor to register you so you can get a patient MM ID
Not without a PA MEDICAL MARIJUANA PATIENT ID
Everything Gerald said is true, but you can also check the list of approved doctors on the website 4 your county, 4 all you know your (PCP) maybe listed. And secondly after you get your number and desertification is completed, you may request a fee reduction depending if you participate in one of the four listed programs and pay $25 for your car like I do instead of $50. ( I ONLY PAY $25 BECAUSE I PARTICIPATE IN SNAP, MEANING I RECEIVE FOOD STAMPS )
