I'm hesitant to cause such a potentially mind-blowing epiphany for a stranger without exercising greater preparational caution, but here goes....oh, you should probably sit down. Jimmy John's....is a business. You Ok so far? Alright then. They created their business in order to make money from their customers. This is also known as a "profit". Traditionally, businesses find a way to use as little of their own money as possible, while somehow causing their customers to spend AS MUCH of their money as possible. Still with me? Oh, no problem....maybe this example will help: If it costs JJ $3 to make a sandwich, and they charge customers $10 to buy it, then the resulting profit is 10 - 3 = $7. Wow! That's a lot for JJs! But NOW, what if JJs found ingredients for their sandwiches that look the same, but are made from much lower quality resources and therefore even cheaper for JJs? So now it only costs JJs $1 to make a sandwich. But they still charge customers $10! 10 - 1 = $9 profit!
