You have to get all your work done through them.
Like the other answers, it's a lifetime warranty for the powertrain. So it is a rather limited warranty. The catch is that you setup commonly performed services with that particular dealer. If you're good about doing all of them at that dealer before the time limits, you'll have the warranty if needed.
The lifetime powertrain warranty only has one catch, you get your oil and tires rotated every 6k to 7.5k miles, don't go past the 7500, and the warranty stays in place. I usually get mine done every 6k miles.
I believe it's about 3 thousand dollars .
The warranty is worthless as their maintenance department is incompetent.
I'm on my second car with them and I haven't paid for the lifetime warranty they give. You just have to keep up with the maintenance on the car as long as they do the work the warranty is in place for as long as you have the car
Thank you all for your input. I would still like to know how much I am paying for this warranty. The cost is obviously built into the price of the car.
