The best deal is to buy a book of tickets at a time. I believe that its about $23 or $24 for 20 tickets. The little kid rides are two tickets for each ride, and the "big kid" rides are 3 & 4 tickets a ride. The rides are similar to what you would see at a local Carnival. There is a very small roller coaster that would be appropriate for a pre-teen .
The rides for young kids are only a ticket or 2. The bigger rides are 3 to 4 tickets
Nothing to get in but you need to buy tickets to get on the rides. Tickets are relatively inexpensive, maybe $1/ea (not sure, been awhile since I've been there) and you need 2-3 tickets per ride.
