It's not bad. They keep it warm but you still want to dress accordingly.
Like all older structures, likely will be very warm in areas heated with fireplaces and radiators. Other areas could indeed be cold. Considering your activity I would wear a coat or wrap easily discarded as needed.
It is, but a sweater is always a great friend. :-)
