Yes, it is true.. if you're hesitant about any of the bad reviews, go on a tour and stop by any patient's room and ask how they like it there, they will say it's terrible.
Its all about the staff in these kinds of places. Alot of them are people on welfare who are forced into getting a job and think its easy money but its not. If you dont have compassion or patience its not the job for you. As a caregiver for 12 years I have seen and heard things that have convinced me to NEVER place a loved one in these places. The neglect, poor attitudes and just plain laziness by the staff is horrific. Short staffing is another issue, I feel for the truly good people who give 110% at these jobs and I have met a few but not many. Its just sad to not be able to feel safe putting someone in these places. And just because it beautiful and fancy and expensive does not mean its a good place.
