With new digital system your receipt can be pulled from the computer if they have either your phone number or address account information.
Just take it to the customer service department.
If you have the receipt or the original package you can return the item.
Because you paid cash,just make sure that you have your receipt. If you have credit card, in future you should your credit or debit card for purchases.That way if you ever lose the receipt,they can look it up by your credit card,Because the transaction is kept in file under your credit or debit card.
