Isaac has the answer...but u can board in Homewood it's a transit bus you will board and it goes to Kankakee where Amtrak will pick u up
Kankakee, Champaign, Gilman, Rantoul, Mattoon, Effingham, Mount Vernon, Salem, and Carbondale. However due to rehab of the Homewood Amtrak platform, trains are not stopping here. For now, trains are only boarding in Chicago or Kankakee. Good luck!
