The store closes because it's a small business run by a family, they use that short break to get other day to day stuff taken care of when they are normally pretty slow.
That usually is a time for magic the gathering tournaments I believe. They take a break during the day to host some and then return when they finish. People are in the store but I not in the front.
The real question is why is the dragon open between 11 and 1:30? The answer is they are open at that time to accept ups and FedEx package delivers and put them in inventory. They then take a break and take care of other things. The main audience for the dragon is at school or work during the day so staying open from 1:30 to 4 would means the owner sits there for that time watching the seconds click away on the clock. If Plainfield was a larger town with more constant foot traffic would justify the extra hours but when you would spend 12.5 hours sitting there and maybe get 1 or 2 customers a week in that 1:30-4 it makes sense to do something else.
Might be used to pick up kids from school, errands etc...
