I work at Eagle (and am a certified IL CCL Instructor). IL honors no other States' permits unfortunately, so you'll have to trasnsport as a non-CCL holder (firearms is a locked case, no ammo in the firearms). As long as you have an out of state (non-IL) driver's license, you are good to go for the range.
I'll check with the range and let you know tomorrow. I suspect you'll be okay. With your permit from your home state, you can bring your guns but you will not be able to carry in IL. You can transport but not carry; that's the distinction.
Would suggest you contact the range just to be sure. Illinois doesn't have reciprocity with many states too so I would contact illinois state police and ask them about traveling here with your guns. Just my .2
Illinois has no reciprocity with any State. You can transport. Make sure it is locked away in trunk not accessible and not loaded. Check with range. They may accommodate you. I think I've seen others come in but don't quote me on it. Use the app Legal Heat, it is all on there. If you know some one with an Illinois FOID card or CCW permit, ask them to go with you.
Without a foid, most places will not allow you to shoot. You need someone with a foid.
No he doesn't just trying to figure everything out before I visit don't want to just make the drive and find out I cant even have them in the state you know
I too would call the range. It is probably fine, but check on it.
