The first central market (south Lamar location) came to Austin in 1999
The first Central Market ever was opened 1994 on North Lamar in Austin, TX. A second store came in 1999 in South Austin. Central Market is owned by HEB which is why there are so many CM branded items in HEB stores.

South lamar wasn't the first Central Market to Austin the one on 38th and lamar was and it opened in 1994
