Hi Marina, great question! A dedicated temple is a temple currently in service for regular use by temple recommend holders. A temple is dedicated for the work of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by either our Prophet or one of the Twelve Apostles who hold the keys (or authority) for the kingdom on earth. These keys made it possible for me to be sealed to my wife and her daughter for time and all eternity, rather than just the length of our lives here on earth. Before a temple is dedicated, there are open houses where the public is invited to tour the temple. The Pocatello Idaho temple will be having an open house this month.

A dedicated Temple is when an Apostle of the Lord blesses and consecrates a Temple for sacred ordinances to be performed. As the Lord personally visits their Houses, the temples are considered the most sacred places that exist on earth
