The big 16 inch guns (the main ones) can fire up to 23 miles
The Jersey fired for us in Vietnam. The shells could go over 20 miles. I toured the Jersey weeks later in Hawaii while on R &R.
I remember 23 miles, I would hate to be on the receiving end......
The range of the main guns is approximately 24 miles
I think the tour guide said it but I can't remember.
