A stand still at the bridge means two things it might be a barge coming through to take supplies to the company that are located along the river but daily every half hour every day it's going to be a back up because the local riverline train comes through by the bridge those going and coming will have a delay that is one of the reason traffic gets back up...any maintenance work they usually post in advance .ok. If open usually a large ship, if not then bridge maintenance. Coming into NJ on the right side you may notice new bridge decking being assembled. That will be replacing the structure currently in place in the near future.
