In terms of the rate, the question is irrelevant. It will still cost you the same daily amount. If you were to ask them why they have a separate, long term section I'm guessing their response would be to provide convenience to short term parkers. They've never asked me how many days, only "long-term or short-term," so it's really up to the parker. Interestingly, whenever I've parked in long term they've pulled the shuttle either directly up to my car or at least to the top of the row. All I've gotten in short term is Office or the shelter or in Row L.
Depends what your objective is. Skypark charge $8 per day for that length of time.
