Reason is they are equipped to scan for a stroke..."stroke protocol" also less time waiting then in the ER at the main hospital for minor emergencies, colds...etc.

Yes, they are an extension of the emergency department of main hospital. So they do bill as an emergency room visit.

That is my understanding.
