Will an accompanying caregiver be required if a patient is in radiation treatment at Vanderbilt for prostate cancer? The treatment is at least 2 weeks and will be around the 1st of February 2019. Thank you.

Yes their policy is every patient has to have a caregiver but you can get permission from your doctor and they may let you be excempt. There were some folks alone when we were in there. Its a great place and I wish you a speedy and full recovery. Happy New year.

If the paitent can take care of themselves a caregiver is not required. I always recommend a caregiver be available though because this disease and treatment are unpredictable. God bless!!! Praying for y'all!!!

If your radiarion oncologist will write a waiver of caregiver you will not be required to have one. It is totally up to the doctor. Just check with them
