Why are mask optional at this location? Was there a big fight? They used to be so good about safety

I visited Sams Club yesterday and spoke with a manager. Long story short, they aren't enforcing mask wearing anymore. My first test, I asked if i can shop without my mask. They said no! I'm feeling good. I ask for mgr and she says they were told to stop enforcement (5 seconds later, i noticed shopper with no mask). They used to have special security to enforce and they got rid of them too. I left with the feeling that they were tired of the drama. The minority that shouts the loudest wins again

Dont think they are optional , sign on door says mandatory last time I went.
