There is no age restriction for SSI. SSI is a needs based program for disabled individuals that have limited income and resources, and are not eligible for Social Security, or their SS amount is below a certain limit. The only time age comes into play with SSI us at age 65. At age 65, even if not disabled, if you have limited income and resources, and your SS amount is low or nonexistent, than you may be able to receive SSI.
