It is good for fishing, however you do need a fishing liscense because it is a public place. It doesn't matter which spot you want to fish at, one place can be just as good or as bad as the next spot. Just beware of alligators, the waters are infested with them. This answer is based on what I have seen, and my experience there.

Good fishing just kind of a tough fish. You need a state fishing license and a post permit. You also need the isportsman app to check in and out of an area. I don't think you need to check into Holbrook but I always do anyway. There are bass, catfish and blue gill. Also plenty if alligators and snakes so be careful.

A permit is needed to fish on base. Get it at MWR. Didnt fish at this one. Several others were fishing there, both on shore and in kayaks.
