Enoree River Winery does use stainless steel for aging. We grow red muscadine (Noble), white muscadine (Carlos) and Black Spanish (Lenoir) in the 8 acre vineyard, as well as other experimental grape varieties. We do oak some of our red vinifera varieties, as well. We do not age in oak barrels because the majority of our customers prefer sweet and fruit-forward wines. We import juice for the vinifera varieties that we cannot grow in our area of S.C. but we do all of the fermentation, aging, bottling onsite. All of our wines are produced and bottled onsite.
They have delicious peach slushies right now as well as a variety of other wines. Muscadine is really the only variety of grape that will grow in the hot humid south. They do have a malbec that is oaked but it is not available right now.
They are also growing a SC heritage grape for future vintages.
Muscadine. They only grow muscadine in SC, so they ship in juice and create their own mixes. No oak or steel aging, they use plastic containers.
