Short response is we can’t search customers pockets for a lost or potentially stolen phone. We would certainly get involved and try to figure out who may have taken it if there was enough evidence to support us needing to do so. But we can’t randomly “accuse “ someone of taking it without probable cause and that’s hard to find and go with most of the time. As someone already said, keep your phone on your person at all times. Don’t lay it around or plug it in to be charged and walk away. Everyone is not honest and it will come up missing here and anywhere else you leave it unattended. Hope it turns up and if it was expensive, I would file a police report to create a paper trail.
what are they supposed to do about a lost phone?
Usually, someone on the mic did say a while back that if you leave your phone charging somewhere, you need to have it with you at all times or stay close by it or you might as well forget about it if you lose it. The rink's not responsible for lost phones/tablets, I think. I remember seeing someone come back in while the rink was closing crying about their phone being lost. So from my perspective, make sure you keep your phone with you at all times. If the battery's low, just don't use it..? I charge mines to full before I go to the rink so I don't need to worry about a low battery.
You should file a report with clarke county police
