No, your best bet is to go to a Georgia Department of Veterans Services, they have offices all over the state. They will help you file a claim, US Veterans office requires you to have a authorized agency to process you claim, you will need your military records 214 and any medical records available to you, they can request those records you don't have, start you claim asap because it's the date they use to back date your claim if approved. (2) get enrolled in the VA Medical program, important! (3) if have a civilian doctor and he is treating you for any condition related to military service get a letter from him or her explaining your condition and documents relating to service connected cause, very iimportant. Don't waste your time going agents that charge a fee, or volunteers that don't have the knowledge to get your claim approved, you will have to work hard to get all the info to them that you have access to

Joyce, The VA doesn't require a representative to file a claim, that advice is false. Does it help? Sometimes, but the competence of the individual assisting you can actually hinder the process. Go to your ebenefit account, make sure you upgrade to premium at a local medical clinic. You can upload everything you need to start the claim.
