You can find parking in the street. I park in their front every time I visit.

As a second opinion: parking in the middle of the day is possible. Evening parking is harder. If you can't find something in the immediate area of Indian Road and 218th street, or on one of the Park Terraces, I suggest going across Broadway, north of 218 st. It's a bit more of a walk, but because it's less residential, there tend to be more open spaces.
You'll need a lot of luck. Free parking in Inwood is a nightmare. Alternatively there are paid lots on Dyckman, a 10min walk south.
