Sorry, I don't know how to answer that question. My family is vegetarian/vegan. I offer no moral argument here. We don't condemn those who eat animals. We actually grew up in meat eating households. Instead, we just found over time that we quite prefer plants over animals, because we think that they by far taste the best, though we still occasionally do eat meat. This usually occurs when we are invited as guests to someone's home or some other social setting, or when traveling with few non meat choices. Chick peas just taste much better than steak. Maybe you will come to the same conclusion. All the Best!

Aren't most animals still alive when they are slaughtered for human consumption? If you are not vegan that is a weird question to ask. As do you ask this of the farmer that breaks the chickens neck that you will eat? This is one of the reasons why some people choose veganism because the thought of a 'life' being taken....if this bothers you, it may be better to buy your fish elsewhere or already frozen.
