There is a $12 suggested donation for each adult.

There is now an entrance fee. Initiated December 10, 2018 $24.99. The fee started because the government does not fund the Museum so all money comes from donations and those cannot be depended on I suppose. So, to be self sustainable for the future they now charge.

They have staff to pay and maintaining the building must be done. And let's not forget security. So, after pondering all that reviews I've read; I decided to renew my membership. I live in DC and visit often so, it's beneficial to me to continue being a member. I love the place!

We just went last week. If you order online the tickets are $19.95 if you purchase there it's $24.95. Save a few bucks and order online, the tickets go to your email. Best deal in town, a great museum. Definitely exceeded my expectations. Do it in two days if you can, so much to see.
