You can go to dinner wearing shorts. Keep in mind though that the whole hotel is set up more like a dude ranch. Though it is very casual, most of the employees are walking around in cowboy attire. That is not to say you have to dress that way at all, but to give you a better idea of what to expect. The dinner is not like a typical restaurant. You are seated with other hotel guests and are served whatever happens to be cooked that evening.

My wife and I wore shorts and it's not a problem. It's not like you're around hundreds of people. There may only be 15 or 20 people staying there. But if you're going to go on a horseback ride while you're there, I would not wear shorts.
