Over at Cherokee Lake there are several brick structures with Iron threaded rods coming out of them. As a former sawmill employee these several structures remind me of the way a sawmill would be laid out by an engineer. Have you any reference?

Yes. The Cherokee Sawmill Company operated a sawmill there in the early twentieth century. That is why this (mostly) man-made lake exists and why a train runs through the middle of it.

Thanks Ephraim, yes I believe University of Georgia has some details. Appears maybe the Mitchell brothers. (I'm in question if it was the same family as in Metcalfe) Just thought it was informative.
