If you give the main trail to the ruins and back it's about 13 miles total. We always take our time and bring a lunch and we make it a day trip. A lot longer than 1-2 hours in my opinion.
Go to stump pass state park!
Its really cool and lots of nice things to see but its only 1 to 2 hours long, if that. Not long at all, and a very flat and easy hike.
