I believe they do and using it in this case is unsafe and inappropriate. Repair or replace the bent wheel. Your safety and others around you is worth spending a couple bucks. Auto dismantlers may have the correct wheel if yours is not repairable. I doubt the tire repair solutions would last long if they worked at all.

Depending on how bad the leak is I found that there is a gel that Gunk makes if I'm not mistaken that is the manufacturer. But I had a similar problem with my rim and it wasn't bent that bad but I had to get air in it as well everyday. I bought that gel and it is 4 months later and I have not had to put air in the tire sense. I'm sure if you go there they would be able to help you out. Good luck
