I think the other guides misunderstand you... The hot springs that are outside are enclosed within a wall so that the public cannot see you. When you pay they will give you a key to open it up. No one will be able to see what you do. The baths are, however, close enough to each other that someone in one private bath could hear someone in a different bath over the wall if they were loud enough. Some of the rooms also have private hot springs, where no one would be able to hear or see you. They are also quite spacious, I was worried that we would be crammed into a private room bath versus the outdoor ones, but they were large enough for two people to relax in quite comfortably. With a room, you also have a private backyard with a fence no one can see through/over, so you can do whatever you want out there. Once again, they would be able to hear you as all the backyards share walls. I recommend the Jetsons room.

Yes, the hot springs are open to the public. There is a fee. you can decide how long You want to soak and if you want an outdoor pool or the private pool. Be prepared for very hot mineral bath at Blackstone..

Yes they are open to the public! I would suggest calling one of the hotels that offers them for prices or look them up online. We stayed at Blackstone Hotsprings and were pleasantly surprised at the accommodations! The rooms are spectacular with great themes and the Hotsprings are available in the privacy of your room. The owners/staff are very informative and will answer any questions you may have! I highly recommend Blackstone Hotsprings!!
