Kids under 5 are free but the audio guide is $4. There are sometimes groupon deals. This is also one of the citypass locations so you can get discounts through that program. Also there is a $2 discount through December 2017 if you buy admission to the GW Bush center and Sixth Floor Museum.
I took my 6 year old and she did really well. She actually made me slow down to read everything and stay in the right order.
