Ha! Good luck with that one. Welcome to California. Peak season you need to plan at least 6 months in advance. CA is THE most difficult place to get reservations anywhere in any campground, state run, county run or private. Hope you are lucky! If you go off season, yes, up for grabs and cheaper.

If you make a reservation the day of you're less likely to have a spot than reserving in advance. It's a small campground so gets filled quickly.
