It is outpatient and it is the best program in Cecil county. The staff are great, the medical, nursing, administrative staff, all of them are extremely kind and helpful. And yes they will help you wean down if you have clean urines, if you're still using illicit drugs they won't do a healthy taper, only an AMA (against medical advice). If you are sober it is recommended by all physicians that you only go down 2-4 mg a month or you're likely to use again, or be sick. It's not something that happens over night. After a few months of clean urines you get a take home, then another, another, etc and can get up to a whole 3 weeks at a time. You have to see a counselor and go to group therapy. It is really worth it to save lives.
Ween off? I been there for 4 years and everytime I tell them I wanna wean off they always say "I don't think that's a good idea, and if you do, you should should wean off over a year's time" You can't go anywhere, like vacations because u are stuck here so you can make it to get ur dose everyday. I've had my takehomes quite a few times. Once for a whole year and they take them from for the stupidest reasons!!! I can't wait to get outta this place!!!!
It's a long term daily methadone dosing and once your past your cravings to use street drugs you gradually ween off the methadone. They also have a rapid suboxone detoxe program as well. I believe its 10 days compared to a year or two on methadone.
No daily dose of methadone, can recieve take homes if comply with rules.
