Hi, I have bought a new car and am selling my car to my son. What all is needed to transfer ownership. and license, tax, and tag. my sons car. Do I transfer my plates to the new car or gift them to my son as they are good for 2 yrs this past Oct.

The Title, write a letter saying that you gifted the car to him for one ( 1 ) dollar. Then he will only have to pay tax on $ 1.00 the plates go to your new vehicle. Plates don't cost that much. New inspection is 12 dollar's.
