Update: When I emailed the "lady" about what I learned from Ebay, I never heard another word from "her". Ebay said the only way they would be involved is if the boat had been listed on Ebay. And the scam is giving the people the Ebay gift card pin numbers. Then they can use them on Ebay to buy whatever they want and you are screwed out if your money. Cliff, I am also wondering about "our" boat we want to buy. Who is your seller contact? Is it a 2011 Pontoon? Wonder if it is a scam.

Wow, I'm currently trying to find out about a polaris ranger. Same exact situation. Supposedly a master sgt. In the marines, husband died, her and daughter moving to Kentucky by her parents. This persons name is Theresa Dawson. Ad is to good to be true.

They had an 7x14 enclosed trailer listed through Craigslist same situation.. too good to be true. They said it was at the yard in Kentucky. They just needed my contact info and ebay motors would call me to set up the free shipping. Recently divorced and about to be deployed. Scam!

Same thing with a 2008 Honda Gold Wing and trailer. USAF MSgt Theresa Dawson, husband passed away 6 months ago, moved to KY with daughter to live at parents home. Price too good to be true, listed on facebook marketplace. Wants payment in Ebay gift cards. Agreement sent looked very convincing and official. Reporting it to the State Police today.

Most definitely A SCAM. In 2 days have seen it for a John Deere 2320 tractor, a 2005 bobcat, this bass buggy pontoon boat, a Kubota tractor and a pickup truck. If you click on is it still available and get immediate responce saying something like we are not the owner just posting it for the and given an email address to make contact with owner ..SCAM. Always different name but same scenario.

I got the same story about the 2008 Polaris Ranger, but she was a "MSGT USAF"....but same story. Husband died, moved to KY to be with parents, etc. Figured it was too good to be true
