Pennies in good condition with wheat ears are generally 2 cents each, unless it is a rare date. Anything from 1935 to today is so common and would get 2 cents. Very few Jefferson nickels have any value to speak of. Any dimes, quarters or half dollars that are dated 1964 and back have silver value, generally 8 times the face value. They would look at your coins, determine the condition and would be honest with you about their value. If they have value the shop would probably buy them.
