I go to Oliver's quite a bit.The candy is okay, it's good but not like when I was a kid.The last few times I bought candy the due date to use by was expired, doesn't the candy get checked for this?

I would think the date was when it was made or put on the shelf, not an expiration date. I don't think it stays on the shelf long enough to expire, certainly not anywhere as long as candy in a grocery store does. Still the best chocolate, in my opinion.

Honestly I think the candy is dated for store inventory purposes. How long does the candy sit in a gas station?

I'm not sure The last time I bought Candy it was expired also Have not gone back!!
